Cooperation in Higher Ed
Founded in the late 1980’s as part of a national effort by the U.S. Department of Education to establish statewide and regional consortia to address campus problems with alcohol and other drug abuse, the New Jersey Higher Education Consortium (NJHEC) for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention and Education is one of the oldest consortia in the U.S. NJHEC has a long and successful history of supporting prevention programs in New Jersey’s colleges and universities. - to develop strong institutional policies on drug use and alcohol abuse
- to measure the extent of drug use and alcohol abuse and their associated problems
- to create activities to bring about desired behavior changes in students, staff, and faculty
